Arizona '25
(2025)

In the Summer of 2025, I visited my birth state of Arizona for the first time in 13 years, along side my mom. Despite it being my first time experiencing many of the sights we saw, most were a part of my family's history. My mom was able to act as a tour guide through her memories, and using this new knowledge, I took the opportunity to document my family, the land, my connections to it. Specifically, Glendale and Phoenix hold a significant weight in my life and is where most of my family grew up and still lives. Feeling like an outsider while knowing that I have a deeper connection to these spaces reflects in the work, being voyeuristic yet sentimental.
